First, at the time at which POTUS and Ayers shared a board, Ayers was a respected college professor.

Ayers has never been a right wing lunatic, like Hamsher's boy, Norquist.

Here's your ally, the person you'd join to launch attacks against Dems:

Grover Norquist: Yeah, the good news about the move to abolish the death tax, the tax where they come and look at how much money you've got when you die, how much gold is in your teeth and they want half of it, is that -- you're right, there's an exemption for -- I don't know -- maybe a million dollars now, and it's scheduled to go up a little bit. However, 70 percent of the American people want to abolish that tax. Congress, the House and Senate, have three times voted to abolish it. The president supports abolishing it, so that tax is going to be abolished. I think it speaks very much to the health of the nation that 70-plus percent of Americans want to abolish the death tax, because they see it as fundamentally unjust. The argument that some who played at the politics of hate and envy and class division will say, 'Yes, well, that's only 2 percent,' or as people get richer 5 percent in the near future of Americans likely to have to pay that tax.

I mean, that's the morality of the Holocaust. 'Well, it's only a small percentage,' you know. 'I mean, it's not you, it's somebody else.'

And this country, people who may not make earning a lot of money the centerpiece of their lives, they may have other things to focus on, they just say it's not just. If you've paid taxes on your income once, the government should leave you alone. Shouldn't come back and try and tax you again.

Terry Gross: Excuse me. Excuse me one second. Did you just ...

    Grover Norquist: Yeah?

Terry Gross: compare the estate tax with the Holocaust?

Stop trying to hide behind POTUS and deflect from Hamsher's choice to join hands with this beast.

Some more on Hamsher's new "associate"

The Veterans Administration, now run by a former Republican National Committeeman, has been subjected to the same radical hatcheting that the White House has tried to wield against the rest of America's safety net. Cutbacks, cooking the books, privatization schemes, even a proposal to close down the VA's operations have all been in evidence. The administration's inside-the-beltway supporters like the Heritage Foundation and famed anti-tax radical Grover Norquist like to equate VA care with welfare. Traditionally, however, most Americans have held that the VA's medical care and disability compensation was earned by those who served their country.

Now it's personal.  I never had an opinion one way or the other on Hamshire before.  But as a 60% disabled vet, it now gets personal.  I've seen many comments in this pie fight rationalizing her "strategic alliance" as the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Well, it works both ways: the friend of my enemy is my enemy

I really don't give a shit is it's an association or not, if a progressive is going to work with a fucker like Norquist, who worked to dismantle my VA benefits, they are not progressive and are no better than a political mercenary.

I may have not been a "Hamshire Hater" before today, but I am now.

I simply think she's useless in terms of real reform efforts.

Norquist is a real, real scumbag with a catalogue of misdeeds.  He's right to feel threatened with the current Dem ascendancy.

I hope that you and yours have a wonderful, wonderful holiday.  I truly think that the best is yet to come, and that we're going to keep inching along towards this thing called progress.

to get progressives to commit on the record for a PO earlier this year was useful.  I've seen her on Maddow a few times and she seemed amiable enough.

But not now.  I think of Meteor Blades signature: "don't tell me who you are, show me your actions, and I will tell you who you are"
