  •  "Time is an illusion. (4+ / 0-)

    Lunchtime doubly so."--Douglas Adams.

I was once so late with my review of Macbeth--we had to see the university performance and critique it--I was so time-muddled and hopeless I missed the damn run of the show. Showed up the night after it closed for some weird modern dance performance. It was like a bad dream.

I was a sophomore, just 19, and not so great at thinking things through. So I turned in my paper, explaining, in as joking a matter, what I had managed to fail so spectacularly at. I ended the "essay" with the Douglas Adams quote. My professor was NOT amused.

20 years later, and I still stumble around in what appears to be an entirely different time zone than the rest of you-all live in. But I least I know better now than to expect others not to be both baffled and extremely irritated at my peccadilloes.

The world is run by people who show up.

It doesn't seem like rocket science, but sometimes...
