  •  I've been to a range with a "gun nut" friend (4+ / 0-)

and I enjoy shooting.  My eyesight proved to be a problem, however.  Being farsighted, I can see the target just fine without glasses; but the gun sights are just a bit fuzzy without glasses.  But if I put on glasses for the sight, I can't focus on the target.

It was okay for the enjoyment of emptying a few clips, but I don't see how accuracy is going to happen for me.

hit a clay range once in a while when weather permits.  I've been thinking of joining them one of these days.

Trap is relaxing and easy to learn. The regulars are quite patient with newbies, as long as you pay attention (to know when it's your shot) and handle your gun safely.

I shot trap every week for several months, and I got pretty good with my $199 Mossberg 500.
I entered a "wobble trap" competition with it, and I was leading at the halfway point: I had only missed one clay out of 50, shooting my first (and only) perfect round. (I had one bad round, and finished second overall). The guys with their $2000 imported trap shotguns were sizing me up for a massive gunshot wound...
