there county commissioner/state races where someone who's positions are worth supporting? I always go for the candidate first. Since my local CD is D+23, I usually wind up driving to red territory. Don't be shy about being a weekend warrior, just make sure you're up to speed with the locals, they know the ground-game.

If you want to work on a campaign, the DFA training is great.

All evil needs to succeed is for good people to say "the votes aren't there in the Senate."

Plenty of work to be done here.

Why write a diary about unsubscribing from OFA, when you could have written a diary about ongoing efforts in FL-16 to elect more and better Democrats, and brought in action items for people to help out in your district?

(Come to think of it, while we're on the subject of diaries that will actually make a difference, why not write a diary saying that you called your representative, Senators, and candidates for representative and Senator asking them when they're going to make DC civil rights a major part of their campaign and governing agendas, and documenting their responses?)

Call Congress and demand 2 Senators, 1 VOTING Rep, and full home rule for DC citizens. Anything less is un-American.

        •  Well, that's a valid point. (4+ / 0-)

I work in a politically sensitive industry, in a very RED district, so I typically put most of my efforts forth into surrounding areas. I don't talk on the internets much about my local work because I like keeping my job, but you'll have to trust me on this one; I'm pretty active.

(And I agree 100% on DC, spent a lot of time there and there's a need for reform.)
