...but we have a bad opponent, who is struggling to Tea Party-ize himself.  And maybe some primary opponents waiting in the wings.  And a Hispanic population that might get out and vote.

The GOP in SC is sorta in tatters after Mark Sanford's trip on the Appalachian Trail and the emerging Tea Party civil war; DeMint's worried enough that he's dancing the Tea Party song.

Not sure about how strong Don Fowler's old SCDP organization is; it sorta collapsed in the 1990s after he went to the DNC.  The 50 State Strategy and the Obama primary campaign should have helped some.  Plus there are some younger Democrats coming forward to run.  Some attention from the DNC could create a buzz that could draw off GOP resources to defend.

But the growing Hispanic demographic plus activation of the Obama base, especially the blacks who turned out last year could very well deliver some upsets.
