      as the CO State House Speaker and was expected to be appointed to the seat Salazar vacated to become Interior Secretary. Gov. Ritter instead appointed Michael Bennet and created an uproar among Colorado Dems. Bennet was more or less unknown. Now Romanoff is running against him, although his campaign has so far been pretty wimpy.

      community. Served in the State House (Senate?) for a while. He wasn't in my district so I wasn't too familiar with him until recently.
