    is whether Erickson should only get a slap-on-the-wrist sentence (like probation or community service) or actually be sent to jail.

      But that is not a matter of opinion.  Before we get on to the punishment phase we should first resolve the question of whether or not he should be investigated.  It will be up to the investigators and any judges involved to decide what the punishment is once they've determined a law was broken.  The discussion just appears to be a little "cart before the horse."

      If people believe the law was broken and punishment warranted then he needs to be reported to whatever body would investigate this.  I imagine it would be the FEC.
