    that Faux news editors consciously distort scientific literature to use as propaganda. Probably the news announcers also know that this is distortion, but Faux news is the ultimate post-modernist news organization.  Objective scientific fact is just a social construct to them, or more precisely a social construct of liberal academic elites.  So blurring the boundaries between the scientific process and opinion news is not a big deal for them. Fair and balanced does not mean scientific check and balance - "fairness" means that contrarian right-wing distortions of science belong on the airways.  

    Sadly fewer and fewer people understand the scientific method.  Our nation is growing stupider while the disconnect between the scientific and academic community and the public grows wider. Faux thrives on distorting scientific evidence one day, and condemning academics and elite thought the next. They win both ways and there are no consequences for distorting the evidence this way.
