  •  I hope you don't mind... (none)
But I took that sentiment and submitted it to the Seattle Times editorial.

I'll let you know if it gets accepted.  :)

    •  EVERYONE should write LTEs on this (none)
If your local paper has the Rossi "do-over" story in this morning's edition, write a letter along the lines of Raybin's post.

      •  Easy LTE contact here (none)
Conveniently, the Gregoire campaign's Director of Technology (a former Deaniac) has the state newspaper contacts neatly scripted for easy "click and go" contact.

So what are you waiting for? Let's give Dino Rossi a big shout out to be a good boy and take his marbles and wingnut friends home for good ;-)

So, that is an AWESOME tool.  So, why am I only now seeing it!

I have an organization that can utilize that so very, very well.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And if that tech guy can shoot me an e-mail, I'd gladly like to find a way to use it once the CG04 site goes down.

            •  tool will be used (none)
I just got an email message from Democratic state chair Paul Berendt (SUBJECT:  We have a winner!), in which is included a link to the Gregoire LTE tool.  It's a nice message, with just a touch of snark and not much gloating.  In part:
Whatever hysterical attacks the Republicans launch, Chris Gregoire will be sworn in as governor on January 12th and start her work as governor for the people of Washington State.

While we have set our sights forward to a Gregoire administration, Dino Rossi can't seem to see straight.  Yesterday, in an act of utter desperation, he called for a new election.

Now, you might expect me, the State Party Chair, to say things like 'sore loser' or 'give it up, Dino.'  But I don't have to.

Why not?  Because Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike are already saying it for me.  Newspapers that endorsed Rossi have said it's done.  Republican auditors across the state agree it's over.  The Republican Secretary of State said it is finished.

Last night, in one breath Dino Rossi said a long drawn out process would hurt Washington State, and then asked for a second election.

Rossi didn't think the election was a "total mess" when he was in the lead.  When he was in the legislature he voted for the process we just finished: a machine recount and a hand count to get the final and most accurate results.  But now that he is behind he's changed his tune.

This vote have been checked, double checked and triple checked by hundreds of Democratic and Republican observers and counters all across the state.

Dino Rossi calling for a new election is absurd, it's desperate, and it's hypocritical.

Make your voice heard! Write a letter to the editor and tell Dino Rossi and his friends to stop with the nonsense, and join us in moving our state forward!

Write that letter!  You'll be glad you did.

        •  Here's mine (none)
To the Editor: Could someone please tell Dino Rossi that there actually are some people who have been paying attention the past few months?  We happen to know he has shown starkly different attitudes towards "making every vote count" lately.

Perhaps he could go back in time a few weeks and convince himself and his party to drop their opposition to revisiting rejected ballots.  He could also interview himself at the time on the evils of wasting time and taxpayer money on post-election reruns and legal challenges.  Or maybe he could review his own comments concerning the right time to concede an election.

During his short tenure as governor-elect, Dino Rossi displayed an almost schizophrenic ability to entertain both sides of an issue-- I for one am glad he won't get to be governor.

    •  I don't mind at all (none)
I'm just glad you liked it that much...hope it gets accepted!
