  •  Big one for me is reducing fat from all (7+ / 0-)

    sources: salad dressing (big salads are tasty, but loading them with dressing not so good), cheeses, butter, cooking oil, etc. Over time I reintroduce the good ones. When dieting, one egg, one slice of toast, a grapefruit for breakfast always worked for me, felt better than a bowl of cereal with skim milk.

      that's an appetizer!

      But then again, three out of four of us are confirmed morning birds - to the point that there no use in making a real dinner.  No one will do anything but pick at it because they aren't hungry.  I have made a full meal - protein, veggies and carb - for breakfast and it gets eaten.

      Eat when you are hungry.
