  •  I SO love cartoons! (6+ / 0-)

I just don't have your talent and ability to keep them all straight to be able to pull them up and post them in the appropriate place.  The best I can do is send links to appropriate people who would appreciate them when I see them on a computer screen; if I download them, they're in a file... and, out of sight, out of mind.

I'm like that with jokes, too.  I have no talent for telling jokes; I appreciate them, laugh uproariously at them... but I don't have joke telling ability or memory for them.  (Except, oddly enough, those stupid elephant jokes from late grade school and junior high.  Some of those horrible groaners I remember.  Urg.)

Congrats on Klien quoting your "Little Robespierre" remark!  :-)  That has to be quite an ego boost.  ;-)

As far as other cartoons you posted about Leno & the NBC idiocy....

I miss Johnny Carson.  The man could elicit many minutes of howling laughter with just his facial expressions.  I don't know how often I've watched the few minutes of Carson with the marmoset on his head, and it never fails to make me laugh hysterically.  There are several YouTube videos with Carson and various animals, and virtually all of them are funny to one degree or another.  He had a way with many animals and didn't seem to be afraid of many of them, and his calmness was communicated to most of them, and they weren't afraid of him either.  The result was comedy gold.

I quit watching late-night shows when Johnny retired.  I never did like Leno's humor in the years preceding Carson's retirement, nor much of Letterman's... until last year leading up to the election.  Then I did stay up to watch a few Letterman shows.  I don't get NBC because I refuse to pay for ads I could get with rabbit ears; but any damned fool could have told the executives who made the decision to put Leno in prime time every night would result in disaster and low viewer ratings (anyone with a choice is going to watch Castle on ABC on Monday night in the first place; it's the only new show worth watching since it debuted last winter/spring).  I got the digital converter, but haven't connected it yet because I was looking for something good to watch on PBS besides the BritComs... and scheduled were war shows upon war shows, so it wasn't worth my time to connect it (I see it as implied favor and brainwashing for the illegal wars that have been going on since the Bushista years).  Supposedly the same converter would get me the new HD channels the local PBS station has, but several channels were kids' shows only, one more was more war shows, and the last remaining one was sewing, crafts, and cooking (actually, some of those kinds of shows might be worth watching on occasion).  I can do without TV; we didn't have one when I was young, so books and my active imagination were my entertainment.... :-)

They're asking for another four years -- in a just world, they'd get 10 to 20. ~~ Dennis Kucinich
