Despite delays caused in great part by right-wing opposition and a strange version of not-in-my-back-yardism, Guantánamo no doubt will be shut down eventually, even though it's been obvious for months that the President's original deadline for doing so could not be met.

If President Obama really wanted to close Guantanamo, he could have simply ordered the prison closed and the prisoners transferred.  Instead, he procrastinated until the media and then Congress made a fuss, and then passed a bill denying the use of federal funds for a prisoner transfer.

Which Obama conveniently signed, so now he gets to throw up his hands and say Congress wont allow it.

    Weak.  Sauce.
