  •  I hate to do this (0+ / 0-)

but the rulez are the rulez.  And advocating violence, even cartoon violence, is an HRable offense.

Let's not make the unacceptable the enemy of the preposterous.

Which was compounded by the Nurenburg defense.

    •  You don't so well with nuance, do you? (0+ / 0-)

There's a difference between advocating violence and using someone else's rhetoric (which advocates violence) to point out the absurdity of their rhetoric.

      •  You don't know me very well (0+ / 0-)

either.  I see your nuance and raise it to absurdity.

...you failed to recognize "absurd" in the first place.  Yet, you had no problem finding the H/R.

And what I do know about you is that you're a good source of irony, and a part of this nutritious breakfast.

          •  Like I said (0+ / 0-)

Go check my comment history and see if I "get it".  Pfft.

            •  Forget history. Everything we need to know is... (0+ / 0-)

              ...right here in this diary.

You don't know me very well either.  I see your nuance and raise it to absurdity.

Here, you suggest that you know my post was rhetorical in nature, not actually advocating violence.  You even use the correct terminology -- absurd -- as in Reductio ad absurdum, the common (non-formal) legal definition of which is to show that a proposition should be rejected due to possible negative consequences.

              ...I wasn't personally offended...

and here you state that the post was not objectionable to you.

              Yet,

I hate to do this...but the rulez are the rulez.

              and

I wasn't personally offended, just following site rulez.

So, despite the fact that you purport to understand the nature of my statement as rhetorical in nature and not advocating violence, and the fact that you did not find it offensive...  You immediately suspend what you know to be right and true, and defer to authority, your basis for doing so contrary to what you claim to understand, and using a very tenuous leap to ground yourself upon that rule.

Do you see now why Ivan's "Nurenburg" comment was particularly poignant?

I've had fun and all, but if the substance of this one conversation is what constitutes your "getting it," I think I'll pass on your suggestion of perusing your greatest hits.

And don't take this the wrong way either, but were you somehow impaired when you chose your screen name?

              •  I dont' think (0+ / 0-)

it's possiblwe to take it the wrong way.

I was once HR'd to oblivion for saying A YEAR after his death, that a certain fox News host and presidential spokesliar was a bad person.  Now I didn't get that - this is a dem site.  But protesting just dug me deeper and got me more HRs.  Until I found out what everybody was really telling me.

A few years ago, some people were having fun with Cheney's trip to Afghanistan and someone suggested much like you just did, that it would be nice if a suicide bomber could time his attack just right.  Guess what happened?  Somebody over at fux news picked up on it and all of a sudden DK is Satan's playground.  Nobody meant it seriously. but it didn't matter.

Did you expect me to go retrieve the donut based on your assholish replies?  Or was I supposed to cry because you mocked me?  Like I said, you dont' know me and now I'm glad you don't.

                  Oh, OK.

Yet, that doesn't stop you from trying, does it?  I'm glad we have you on the vanguard protecting us from those idiots over at Fox News.  No, really.

    •  LOL. When I was in school... (0+ / 0-)

...we were required to take a semester of logic, and a semester of rhetoric in order to graduate.  It's a shame schools don't do that anymore.
