  •  Chavez and Ahmadinejad's batshitiness has (9+ / 0-)

kinda prevented a real "meeting", whatever that is.

Shockingly and perhaps sadly, both of those douchebag leaders have free will and can choose not to meet the "imperialist U.S. president" if they so choose.

(though Obama did shake hands with Chavez)

And Chavez?  Obama could go on his
"Hello, President" show!  With Oprah to make-up for Hugo's home-field advantage.  Assuming Oprah follows all of Venezuela's communication laws of course, including the requirement that every foreigner recite by memory one of Chavez's 7 hour speeches.

Everyone is a critic. And on the internet, everyone can be a (bleep).

    •  Well (0+ / 0-)

The point is that he has not exactly displayed much of leadership abroad. His plate has been full, but other than imposing tariffs on some Chinese imports I am not sure he has made significant gains as a leader of the free world.

us as not batshit crazy is a good thing.  And, "leader of the free world," is crap.  No one elected him leader of anything but our country.  He doesn't need to bully his way around the world, because it doesn't help.  What he did, or didn't do, with Iran, was spot on the right thing to do.  McCain would have made a huge hash of it.

Ugh ugh ugh I did not elect my president as anything else but leader of this country.

Leader of the Free World is what the Republicans want. Eww. let's not put that on him.

His first responsibility is to the USA, which the Republicans kinda really screwed up. I guess he's been a little busy with that.

If I remember correctly, most of the planet was just as pleased as we were to get him in the WH. Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran was making the whole planet nervous.

Working with the Russions to get rid of some of those gazillion bombs? Is that trivial?

Sending Clinton, himself, Kerry, Biden, visiting around the world to assure them that grownups are in the WH? (Apologies to children.)
