  •  Oops, left out tax cuts, too, as (0+ / 0-)

    in stimulus by tax cuts.

If I see a hungry homeless person, I give them some money if I can spare it.

This administration, instead, would give a $500,000 interest free loan to a bank in order to free up credit for them to lend to a local fast food joint that is offered a $350,000 after the fact tax credit to provide the guy with a minimum wage job for two months.  That is neoliberalism in action.

    •  tax cuts in stimulus (9+ / 0-)

were targeted to the poor and the middle class, not the rich. That's where they have the most impact in terms of spending (marginal propensity to spend decreases as discretionary income increases).  Those tax cuts are not something anyone should apologize for.  Period.

Some people don't like good news - ever.  Especially if their minds are made up.

My ex-roommate went over to the "dark side"... started listening to ClusterFox.

He was complaining about taxes being raised by the Obama administration, and I told him "Your taxes are not being raised.  In fact, you should already be getting more money in your paycheck each week from the tax cuts for the middle class and working poor".

Do you know what he said to me?  "Yeah.  About enough for a medium pizza every week.  Big freaking deal."

Wow.  He's getting a CUT... and he's pissed about it.

There's no pleasing some people - ever.

      •  Tax cuts and market based incentives as the only (1+ / 0-)

means of doing anything are strong indicators of neo-liberal ideology; quit changing the subject.  Geitner, Summers, Bernanke and Orszag, aka team Rubin are another indicator.  And it is team Rubin, not President Obama who will be going through the budget.

You complain about people griping without basis, and then praise something which isn't proposed and for which no details are known, while ignoring who will be calling the shots because that isn't something that is universally deemed to warrant cheering.

tax cuts are generally refered to as supply side economics. Tried it, Twice, Failed twice. First Reagan and the Bush Jr.

We need 10-15 million jobs ASAP. Krugman at least has a plan to get there.
