The Dems are likely to lose congressional seats in the Central Valley of Calif
as well as in the Midwest in 2010.

Come 2012, unless there is a huge political turn-around, Obama will be back in the highly polarized electoral environment that characterized 2000 and 2004.

With less than a 7% margin, Indiana and North Carolina are highly unlikely. But worse, Florida, Ohio, and Virginia are also questionable.

The question is how well the Democratic brand will play in the Rust Belt. Even if Obama loses all five state above, he still wins the electoral college 279 to 259. It looks like Colorado and Nevada are trending increasingly Democratic, but Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa may be increasingly difficult to hold given massive blue collar and other job losses.

    Don't buy this map.
    It's outdated and hopelessly optimistic.
