  •  No need for Christian bashing, Kos. (0+ / 0-)

Two-thirds of Republicans assume anyone that is not a Christian is going to hell. It certainly makes it easier for them to dehumanize their enemies, either real or perceived.

While most Republicans are Christian, most Christians are not Republican.  Your need to take a swipe at Christian beliefs in your commentary says more about you than the responders.

Would be helpful if you remembered that Republicans act they way they do because the are Republicans, not because they are Christian. They just approach religion the same way they approach everything else.

I have been thrown out of one Church already.

Of course Christians think the only way to heaven is through Christ.

That's the whole point of Christianity!

Basically Ks asked Republicans, are you Christian? The bit about heaven is totally redundant.

The question the poll asks literally makes no sense, which isn't a surprise because when pllsters call me I repeatedly ask them what their question means, and then they get exasperated.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The kind who divide the world into two kinds of people, and the kind who don't.

    •  Unfortunately (4+ / 0-)

White Protestant Evangelicals voted for McCain 3 to 1 over Obama and the Republican party has moved right since then.

      Pew

According to Pew the majority of those who label themselves Christians voted Republican.

I am embarrassed for my faith.

      Markos didn't bash Christians.

      He specifically qualified his comments.

Why did you twist around what Kos posted?
Was it necessary to fulfill your agenda?

No one surveyed said anything about hell.
No one surveyed said anything about dehumanizing enemies.

Markos makes the jump from If Christian, Then you think less of others.  That's at least how I saw it.
