  •  You seem to be contradicting yourself. (0+ / 0-)

For goodness sake, look at the two top issues on the "gay agenda" right now: 1) Marriage 2) Military Service. Could that be any more conservative?

Maybe I'm not understanding what you meant by that. What do you mean by "could that be any more conservative?"  It seemed like you were saying that the Log Cabin gays want Gay Marriage and open Military Service.  Are you saying they don't?

Either way, I don't see many in the Democratic party who are trying to deny fundamental equality of any group.  There are many who might not support aspects of it for certain groups, but not many (I can't think of any) who are actively working against it.

The majority of the GOP and conservatives are working very hard to deny members of their own party fundamental rights. They are working to keep them as second class "others".

If that's not masochistic, than I don't know what is.

That is a "fundamental" difference between the parties.

I'm saying that gays at large, especially gay Democrats, are pursuing marriage and military service. These are fundamentally conservative goals. I don't know and don't especially care what the LC position is on those specific issues.

My point was that everyone assume gays as a group are inherently a liberal constituency. This is an incorrect assumption. Gayness crosses pretty much all demographic lines. It doesn't always supersede them, however. Log Cabiners identify as Republicans first.  It's amazing what you'll put up with to hold onto an identity you value.
