    Of course, the facts aren't neutral.  If a journalist is honest and has easier access to one side's information in a conflict than another, he is going to tell the story that he sees.  It is often the case that no one journalist is in a good position to cover every side of a story.

    The biggest gap in the linked stories in the original posts is that they fail to make clear what facts support the claims that ten of the drone attacks failed to hit their targets.  Presumably this reporter was not told by anyone who the targets of the attacks were, and it isn't clear what inferences are being made by him to reach this conclusion.

    I don't doubt his assertion that there were indeed twelve documented drone attacks in Pakistan or that they killed six score people give or take.  I also don't doubt that inncocent civilians died in those attacks.  But, a good journalist would look at each incident and leave the conclusion as question in each case, rather than reporting it as fact.
