    The US Army/Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Field Manual does not know what back-tracking is.

    Back-tracking means following the scent trail of an infiltration team back to their base. Bloodhounds have been the prime tool for this process for more than a century.

    Not a mention.


    And Ft. Leonard Wood -- Military Police Command -- push sentry dogs and haven't got a Bloodie in their whole force.


    You don't kill civilians doing back-tracking. You find enemy bases and then take them out with direct action.

    Take out 100 bases and the war quiesces. That's a reasonable 6 month objective.

    Bloodies are also first-rate for parsing villagers -- dividing farmers from mercs.
