    please. Diversity is an important feature of all ecologies, including the political ecology. Diversity of the voting process is the only way we have been able to check up on the count this year. Without diversity, the Feds could mandate all DREs with no paper trail, for instance. So think hard before you advocate giving up state control over the voting process.

      I interpreted DD's post as being more of an "oversight" type of commission, but I could be wrong.

      The reason I and other are advocating for a UCC-type of system is that states decide whether they want to accept the Code wholesale or if they want to revise it.  

      I like that states like Washington have the freedom to experiment with the election process.  That's what we need.  Diversity in process, possible.  Diversity in standards, no.
