The GOP isnt really well oiled. Its just there isnt much of a bench of dems here in North Dakota.

The ND Democratic-NPL just basically coasts off our current delegation and hasn't been fielding any strong candidates to run against him.

The last dem to run against him only won the nomination because he was a very long serving member of the NPL and he didn't put up much of a fight.

Hoeven is a tool. He will vote how he is told.

Whats been hapening for the last 12 years or so is that the NPL sends weak state lvl candidates while the republicans send weak candidates to go after the US House and Senate.

Its sort of a joke between some people that must have been some sort agreement that the republicans gets the state while the NPL gets all of the washington seats.

Hoeven's poll numbers are high because he has never had to really take a side on any big issue. He gets a lot of bipartisan support because he legislates like a democrat and then calls himself a republican.

I think out best bet is to try to bloody him up in Nov. and once he was to go to washington and vote and open his mouth his mouth his numbers will go down a lot and hope to get a strong canidate to run against him in 2016.

also a tool--someone to vote like he is told? Someone to vote with the party? So, Hoeven will be joining the club up there.

Besides that, if his numbers are high because he has carefully avoided controversial issues and sought bipartisanship, well he is unbeatable than. That shows me that he is smart politically to avoid issues that tarnish him politically.

Anyways, he looks unbeatable in 2010, and with 4 yeas of incumbency under his belt, in 2016, he will solidify his position.

Don't give a damn a/t each & every politician currently alive in the US. Last time i voted for the top part of the ballot was 1972. Never missed SB election
