People are upset Obama hasn't solved all the problems yet. C'mon, he's only been in office one year...the man went to Harvard, not Hogwarts. - Wanda Sykes

First, who's the troll in the poll? I don't know either.

Second, your diary only lists one proposal that she's made. I'm sure there have been others, but that diary mainly focuses on her national agenda. So what are some of the legal fights she's won, or issues she's concretely advanced as SoS?

Third, while Brunner's proposed policies are good, most of them (like replacing the redistricting board) will need to pass by the legislature or the electorate. As I mentioned in another comment, how will her redistricting proposal succeed where Issue 4 failed 69-30?

      •  I have just listed about a half dozen (2+ / 0-)

things she did. She changed the culture of the office from top to bottom. I can list a few dozen more if you like. This is a very very weak argument against her that holds no water. I think even Lee Fisher would admit she's totally changed the SoS office.

One thing that jumps out that I should add is that she sponsored a couple of elections conferences early last year to assess what happened in 2008 and to make suggestions for a bill enhancing elections which is now in the legislature. Many of the changes are small — like tightening rules for petitioners — but added up, they amount to huge change.

I think most Ohioans would agree that the fact that there were no four, five and ten hour lines in 2008 is reason enoguh to give her credit.

Here in Cuyahoga, she fired out entire inept election board and replaced them, and things are being run professionally now.
