    Anytime there is a major negative outcome, especially involving a person of notoriety, everyone goes into damage control mode, but that doesn't mean they're trying to cover asses. At this point, more than likely, they are trying to get all the relevant information together. That would include the pre-operative evaluation, the surgical records, and how everything was handled once he developed complications. This is far from easy. All hospitals, however, do this, for any of a number of reasons, including trying to learn how to prevent such a thing from happening in the future.
