Not physically but continue until they have no more will to ever enter or deal with politics again.

The United States Senate has lost its political legitmacy and should be abolished.

    •  Where's Obama's Spine? (0+ / 0-)

Spine isn't the entire responsibility of Reid's.

Presidents are supposed to provide leadership. The stronger and clearer, the better. Obama is Democratic party leader, has the bully pulpit,
and a majority in the House and pretty much in Senate.  Yet he's still trying to do "bi-partisan", and has given the Repubs far more ammunition to obstruct and frame issues.

Obama's diffident and tepid  posturings haven't been effective and the leadership vacuum in the White House is appalling and continues.

And, Obama has been dealing with the enemy. He cut a backroom deal with Big Pharma and Insurance monopoly early on, and absented himself from framing and controlling a clear message about healthcare. He allowed the HC mess to start with a compromise and did nothing to steer it. Actually where?  We have yet to hear a concise message from Obama on where he exactly stands on HC??

He  denies ever supporting a public option when  clear evidence to the contrary can be seen on many  videos from the campaign trail. His website where his preference and promise were displayed re: the public option has been scrubbed.

His financial team are the same guys who screwed up, failed, and then got bailed out with our money.
Obama's recent remarks about "these guys are entitled to make a living", etc were dumbfoundingly obtuse.

As for spine it shouldn't come as a surprise that
rightwingnut Republicans have gained traction because Obama has failed miserably in framing and controlling the conversation.

The Chicago team of Rham,Axelrod,Jarrett,Gibbs, have made it impossible for Obama to present us with  bold, clear, committments to policies and straegies we can understand.  They are running him and running him badly.

If Obama cannot shake this group loose and shake up his financial cabinet, he will remain ineffective and can forget a second term. Currrently Obama is not communicating what he really wants regarding healthcare and it's mighty hard to figure out who Obama is and what he really stands for.

What does Obama believe in? I think he's forgot.
