  •  Atheist or agnostic? (0+ / 0-)

I mean, none of us actually knows.

My mother was a moderate Jew. Does that mean I'm not really Jewish?

    •  I am an atheist. I don't (0+ / 0-)

see any evidence of god or gods anywhere. Now, I am open to evidence, but since it is such an extraordinary claim the evidence for would have to be extraordinary.

Before you start on that making me an agnostic I would point out that there are all kinds of things we do not know "for sure" about but have enough evidence to be confident they exist.

Getting Democrats together and keeping them that way is like herding cats that are high on meth, through L.A., during an earthquake, in the rain -6.25, -6.10

I can't be 100% certain that the earth goes around the sun. But it almost certainly does, and unless I see good evidence to the contrary, I'm assuming that it's true. And as an atheist, I can't be 100% certain that there is no God -- but the God hypothesis isn't plausible, and unless I see better evidence, I'm assuming God doesn't exist.
