  •  You know (0+ / 0-)

I want the Dems to win, I'm not out to 'primary' just for the sake of primary--makes no sense to me.

I do donate small amnts to candidates directly.

I just don't want to put it all in one place, thanks for the concern.

but I want specific Dems to win. It takes some time to do the research, but I only contribute to individual candidates, and I use the following criteria:

      2)threatened incumbents first
      3)challengers to vulnerable Rs second
4)no lances or windmills in sight - they have to be a plausible candidate with a real shot at winning, not a protest candidate
5)local - people who can change things in my area, where I best understand the nuances of the political situation
6)if there's anything left over, it goes to challengers of high-profile R's, so people can see that they're not invulnerable. There probably won't be much available for those feel-good gestures this year.

I haven't given a penny to the DSCC or the DCCC in years. I do still have a small Democracy Bond, left over from the days when Dean was DNC chair. I must admit that Kaine's recent (non) performance has tempted me to stop that too.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

the House. I and many others did.

We are in a time where it is risky NOT to change. Barack Obama 7-30-08
