  •  Seriously, what difference would it make (0+ / 0-)

if Arizona sends Hayworth or McCain to the senate?  As thenekkidtruth said upthread:

A Republican is a Republican, so even if Hayworth successfully runs the guantlet to a Senate seat, since Republicans vote as a bloc anyway, he's just not that much different than John McCain, frankly.

I, for one, would be thrilled to see the angry old man given the boot.  The neocons would lose an ardent supporter and strident voice.  No McCain on the Sunday circuit to spout neocon nonsense would be a good thing, not to mention what a loss in seniority might do for the committees McCain sits on; namely, musical chairs all the way around. Add to that Hayworth's obvious wingnuttiness, and it could make for some popcorn-worthy entertainment.  What Hayworth in the senate won't do is change the current dynamic.  Hayworth or McCain?  Meh.

    •  Do you really think... (0+ / 0-)

if McSenile loses he still wouldn't be making the rounds on the Sunday shows spouting neocon nonsense? See Newt, Rudy, Darth, Darth's spawn, etc.

The loss of seniority on committees is a plus, however. (This is why I'm so torn about voting for/against Reid in NV.)

Judge Jed S. Rakoff is my new hero! We need more like him.
