        you certainly don't have to be rich to do it.  My small plane (not so different from this idiot's) is comparable to a small Honda - I should know, I drive a Honda.  My car and plane cost me about the same to purchase and use (bought the Honda new, bought the Cessna when it was 30 years old).  I spend about the same on each (gas, maintenance, other operating costs).  And I'm struggling to stay in the middle class (or within striking distance of it), like many of you.

        The notion that anybody with an airplane is somehow rich is a myth.  It can be quite comparable to the costs of many middle-class hobbies: a second car, a small boat, an RV, or lots of other things.  I know guys who spend more on their fancy camera gear or golfing.
