  •  This sense of being a "lesser human" is at the (4+ / 0-)

    center of the anger, fear and rage that fuels many "populist" movements.  Hitler's Brownshirts (Sturmabteilung) were an extreme example of this resentment being turned into a political force through intimidation and violence.  

    Certain elements of the Falange in Franco's fascist Spain played similar roles, using finely tuned anger to threaten, subdue and eliminate political foes.

    This sense of aggrievement by national "elites" (e.g. jews, bankers, intellectuals, limosine liberals, beltway bandits, et al) has been effectively harnassed by elite Republican political operatives for decades.  In this instance I'm not sure the usual suspects can manage the Tea Party tiger.

    No quarter. No surrender.
