But I have another bone to pick with these leaders that are unable to control their own citizens, provide security within their own countries, and demand US backing and support with both troops and huge amounts of money and materials.  Our troops.  Troops that die, daily. And, money.  Money out of my pocket, and yours.

Exactly WHAT country or WHAT leader demanded that we show up with our military and start providing security?  I cannot think of a single example of this in my lifetime.

I can think of plenty of examples of civilians protesting AGAINST any US military being inside their country.... like Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Italy and Japan -- all that in the last few months.

Now, if you are talking about the puppet governments that we put in place (recently with faulty and corrupt elections) and how they are requesting the US military stay or hand over lots of money and military "aid" - then this is a 100% problem of THE USA'S MAKING.

What we need to do is bring every last damn one of our military, every last damn one of our weapons, and every last damn dollar for military "aid" BACK INSIDE THE FUCKING UNITED STATES OF IDIOTS.

for our help in 2001.  Things may not have turned out as they'd wanted, and they may not have gotten exactly the help they were hoping for, but I don't think you can ignore that.

control of the country.  They are evil people, and when the Taliban first ran them out, the Afghans were grateful.

And early in 2001, like Feb to August, the Bush administration was handing lots of money over to the Taliban.

They're not monolithic.  Some of them were small r republicans.  Some of them were ethnic nationalists who don't want the Pashtuns ruling them.  Some of them were people wronged by the Taliban (don't forget the Taliban were attempting ethnic cleansing in some parts of the country).  And some of them were brutal warlords, like Dostum, who tied people to the tracks of tanks so he could have their body torn apart in a way that he found entertaining.

          •  What oil? There isn't any oil in Afghanistan. (0+ / 0-)

At least not in any quantity to make it worth anyone's worthwhile.
I thought you claimed to know about the area and the people.
