    It occurs to me when I hear the "argument" that repealing DADT would be "disruptive" that that is exactly backwards.

    There are lots and lots of gay and lesbian people in the military. It is DADT that is disruptive, sometimes removing very valuable people when their presence was not a problem. (Arabic translators, anyone?)

    Repealing DADT in fact simply affirms the status quo, and removes the requirement that service people sometimes be dishonest. (And that--being dishonest--is "conduct unbecoming" ...)

    Calmly discarding DADT is the least disruptive path.

    (Something I think officers like Lt. Choi's CO have come to understand.)
