  •  I'm not quite sure what your two examples have to (5+ / 0-)

do with the diarist's point. Incompetence or plain stupidity is not the same thing as being "bought".

...nor stupidity.  Both are examples of corrupt cultures which reward bad behavior.  Cops who report lowered crime get promoted because they make politicians look good.  Prosecutors, like Martha Coakley, are rewarded by the political system for pushing up conviction rates by using dubious confessions, and reward the cops who get them dubious confessions.

Is every cop and prosecutor corrupt?  Hardly.  But the corruption is pervasive throughout the system, and a lot of us have been working really hard to bring that to the community's attention for literally years now.  Part of electing "better" Democrats is electing Democrats who will reform our civil service.  And it offends me to see that belittled out of a dispute with Cenk's diary.

THEN offered some suggested solutions, maybe his diary wouldn't be the turd that it is currently.

I'm not defending Cenk.  The premise that all government is bought isn't the same as that all government is corrupt, and the truth is that although the system of government is corrupt, a significant plurality of the people who work for it are not, probably to a greater extent than in the private sector.

Chants of "government is good" and "government is bad" are equally stupid.

        •  so what solutions has Obama offered... (0+ / 0-)

...after making the same point that Cenk did?
