      them but we objected when the Bush Administration did it - whether by executive order, signing statement, or blatant disregard of the law - and we should be object just as strongly if/when the Obama Administration does it. The end does not justify the means.

      Please consider this: if the executive branch decides which laws to enforce and which to disregard, how can we claim outrage when laws protecting abortion providers aren't enforced? How can we protest that laws protecting the environment aren't being enforced? It would be hypocritical for us to support selective disregard of the law, regardless of whether it's a "good" law or a "bad" law.

      The only morally-justifiable means of dealing with this is for Congress, whose job it is to create legislation, to act. They can repeal the law, or refuse to fund enforcement of it, because they are the legislative body, not the President. If Lieberman acts to repeal DADT, I will cheer the little weasel, at least on that day. The law needs to be repealed, not ignored.
