  •  Well, to be fair, my analysis: (6+ / 0-)

I think this is a testament to how lost the Republican party truly is. For all the hoopla about conservative comebacks and "Obama is in trouble,"  I think that when a major network wants to give the view of the Republicans on issues, they really don't know who their supposed to call, because the Republican party has no one leader to coalesce around right now. So they say, "Welp, John McCain?" I suppose its the logical conclusion.

That's at least an element I think, of course McCain also has really savvy media connections that he uses to the max, and the media is happy to keep having him comeback.

That's the advantage of the bully pulpit, because when Democrats have something to say, the authoritative voice on the position is Barack Obama. For Republicans? The party is broken and they're grasping at straws right now. If only Obama would give them the final stake to the heart (public option victory, major and significant trade legislation, etc)... but I think he's saving them with all this bipartisanship talk. But what do I know, maybe it's working...we'll see in the next 2 election cycles.
