Not meaning to be rude to either you or the original poster, but honestly, so what?  The campaign was 2 years ago and here we are now.

Should we expect Hillary to apologize to Obama?  He was right about the war and she wasn't.

    Let's move on.

more information never should actually cause someone to rethink his position.

      •  That's one of the questions I raise though (0+ / 0-)

Is it really true that he had not considered these issues prior to the primary campaign? I have trouble believing that, given that so many other people had, and he's clearly no dummy.

'he had not considered'?  Have you ever considered something, but remain unconvinced, only to change your mind when you got more information you didn't have before?

Why do you think The President could only change his mind for nefarious, or negligent reasons?

          •  Yeah, I probably have (1+ / 0-)

so what new information does he have now that he didn't have before? The issues he cited have been talked about far and wide, from the pages of the New York Times to local town halls.

            •  Oh, I dunno - the economy completely cratered (1+ / 0-)

between the time of the primaries and the actual election, thus profoundly changing his agenda right off the bat?  The fact that the budgets he might have envisioned in spring '08 were completely different than what he had to work with in spring '09?  The fact that he had to bring up all these programs that will cost money right after congress approved the bank bailouts and the economic stimulus packages to the tune of well over a trillion dollars?

I mean, really - what changed since the primaries?

They only call it Class War when we fight back.

for changing his position, then maybe. Though I think he'd have been laughed out of the room because those things are irrelevant to the individual mandate.

                •  Does he owe (0+ / 0-)

you an explanation when he farts too?

                  •  Well I actually do think that if a politician (0+ / 0-)

goes back against a campaign position, that he should at least explain it. I know I'm relatively unique in this, but that one plank was very important to why I dedicated quite a bit of my time and money to him -- more than I've ever given to any other national politician (I've been more heavily involved in local races).

But that's moot anyways, he did give an explanation.
