  •  President Obama truly led that meeting. (15+ / 0-)

    Folks who wanted to know when he would show some "strong leadership" could see in that meeting what "strong leadership" looks like. He was polite and respectful, but not weak. Whenever a Republican challenged him on who should get how much time (Sen. McConnell), what topics they should discuss (Sen. McCain and others), or attempted rhetorical bully tactics (too many to count) ... President Obama pulled the reins politely but firmly. He heard them out, but only offered ground when they offered a genuinely good idea (e.g.: Sen. Coburn's idea for undercover patients to find fraud in Medicare and Medicaid).

    He left no doubt who was leading that meeting, from start to finish. That was truly ... presidential.

    Good morning! ::hugggggs::
