Stonewall Dems is a local Dem party club.  There's a big difference.

      •  ESPA is the group that organized (0+ / 0-)

Large donations and ground volunteers that played a big role in swinging the NY State Senate from GOP control to Dem in the 2008 Elex. That's pretty powerful.

Stonewall seems rather anemic, at least from where I sit in Brooklyn.

I just don't think they're in the same league.  ESPA is a lobbying group with staff, donations, etc.  Stonewall is a local Dem club for GLBT voters.  I am not a huge fan of either- Stonewall because they are too conservative and ESPA because they endorsed Al D'Amato to not shut out Repbublicans.  I stopped giving them money after that and haven't looked back.  They've also been pretty ineffectual on the issue of same sex marriage.
