  •  Christopher or Jonathan Nolan, I suppose (3+ / 0-)

came up with the line.  It didn't really make an impression on me at the time but the first time I thought about connecting it to what was happening in the real world was when some indigenous Alaskan tribe's elders decided that they needed to leave their ancestral home behind because it was becoming unlivable by their standards - climate was changing and as a result so was their wildlife, which messed up their hunting.  Imagine, oh, Atlanta deciding it was time to call it a century because they couldn't get fresh water anymore.  But a tribe of Indians having to shove off?   No big deal.
