    He talks about how movie makers had to go to
    New Zealand to film Tolkien's ,The War of the Rings (?).It required lots of high tech people and welcoming cultural attitude.

    Peter Jackson is a native of New Zealand.  It also had unmarked natural landscapes that were a good fit for LOTR.  He also had access to large green areas where he could just plan ahead...Hobbiton was allowed to stand and grow for a year before filming.  That would be much more expensive, and less likely to be left alone, in the US.

    To say that the film industry in the US is behind other countries is barking up the wrong tree, IMO.

    Minority rights should never be subject to majority vote.
