    there went my investment.
although I definitely had a good time there too...

it's interesting that if you are a shareholder and the board or executives don't act in your interest to protect your investment you can be sued.  Well, I made a substantial investment which is not worth what it was when I started.  Who can be made accountable?  Oh, that's right, me - self accountability.  bullshit double standard.

The Lege passed a law saying that anyone who graduated in the top 10% of their class would be admitted to UT. This had noble intentions, as the cream from poor and minority schools would be given a chance. Unfortunately, the Texas population has grown so much that the top 10% take up 99% of the available slots and the students who excel in everything else, but rank at the 89th percent of their classes, have to go elsewhere. Now, being in the top 10% of a Texas public high school is no guarantee that you are particularly sharp or hardworking, so the standards at Texas have actually dropped.

The Lege has been looking at this issue, but the GOP insistence on moving Voter ID to the front of the line derailed a lot of legislation 'of lesser importance'.

will put anything ahead of stealing elections.  They have an outstanding record there, and it would be a shame to break it.

I am, at heart, an optimist, which I consider to be spiritually necessary and proper, as well as intellectually suspect.

        •  Oh wait, I was wrong - (0+ / 0-)

Rick the Perry also campaigned hard for a "Pro-Life" license plate.  There was so much to do this year!  Too bad about running the State, but gotta have priorities ya know.

Working hard for Bill White might take the edge off my bitterness, eh?
