  •  Sooner or later, you will hear a euphenism ...... (12+ / 0-)

.... for vouchers out of this administration.

It's coming.  Watch for it.  ;)

    •  it's very depressing (12+ / 0-)

I started out like many others here, very supportive of this administration. Now, I find myself disappointed at almost every turn. It's not that I wanted that to happen, but it is the reality

...... it isn't just you.  There are millions like us.  Hold your head up high:  You aren't alone.

On the upside, Obama has already pooped in his union-support punchbowl with his "cadillac tax".  Sooner or later, the unions will figure who's on their side and who isn't.

There are just so many "fucking ********" moments a politician has before they seriously cut into their base.

        •  Probably true (0+ / 0-)

and that doesn't leave us in a very good spot.

We were looking for change then and many decided to roll the dice with Obama over Hillary for that reason.  So far it hasn't panned out which doesn't mean Hillary would've been any better.

However, there is no denying that if Candidate Obama had run on the same ideas as President Obama, we would be speaking about President Hillary Clinton.

I didn't vote for either one of them in the primary. I voted for Kucinich.

I think a primary challenge is a last resort, but I don't feel any politician is entitled to reelection.

This is a big country and 300,000,000+ strong.  There is no "one" in this country. Somewhere there is a leader who understands we need fundamental change and that fundamental change cannot just be their election win.

We have an education system that's falling apart, a runaway Penatagon and we're broke.  Those kinds of problems need deep fundamental change not incremental change.

I believe Obama had that chance and he pissed it away.  He'll get a victory here and there and maybe reelection.  But I believe history will prove him to be just another "what might've been".

and don't have any desire to move to the suburbs, I am actually pretty happy with that prospect.  The arguments against them in dysfunctional districts are pretty thin, actually.

As I see things, nobody in this discussion is or would send their kids to that school.  The two positions seem to be: (A) this school will suck no matter what, so protect the good it does for the adults; (B) this school will probably suck no matter what, so trying something crazy with a small chance of success might help.

Last I checked, Fenway Park is not in Afghanistan.
