  •  my regular hairdresser just moved to (11+ / 0-)

another salon about 20 minutes or so away. I just didn't have the extra time to get there and I was feeling shaggy and desperate. I went to a place that takes walk ins -- and I got the best cut I've had in years. So it wasn't my weird cowlicks or lack of control with a hair dryer. Apparently the woman I had been going to just isn't very good. But she's really nice...

    •  Let me just go on record (11+ / 0-)

as saying "I love my hairdresser".  I've gone to her for years.  If my hair doesn't turn out I can go back and she'll fix it for free, I can go in and tell her something doesn't seem to be working and she'll know what to do, if I say I would like to try something different she can tell me if it will work for me or not and she's always right.  I think having a good hairdresser is one of the wonderful things in my life.  This time I called for an appointment to get my hair colored and said "I won't have money until the first of the month."  She said to come in whenever and pay her when I got the money.  How great is that.

Must have a good hairdresser. And for me, I must have a good handyman. I have gone through several handymen through the years. They seem to move, retire, or not show up.

I came across LJ a few months ago. I had hired his dad's company to clean my carpet. LJ helped, then gave me his own business card. He is simply great! Shows up on time, hustles, gets things done right the first time. If I'm not feeling well and am in bed, he is very understanding. I don't feel judged for my disabilities when he's here, and that's important for me. I just hope he stays around the area for a long time!
