I think most repubs are perfectly ok with the pitch.  The Free market Ayn Randies know that the repubs are the only game in town for unregulated corporatism and tax cuts galore; the christians know that the republicans are the only ones who will give them the anti-abortion judges; most of the tea baggers believe that Obama is a black devil from Kenya (snark) so they'll still be in the repub camp; furthermore, the pitch will get minimum play from the msm since it doesn't serve the interest of their masters to have that disrespect for the masses shown.

    •  No, there's some cultural lines being crossed (0+ / 0-)

here that have never been broached in quite this way before, at least not in modern times.

100, 150 years ago, political campaigns were a lot nastier than today at the national level.

    •  Even Mitch McConnell is saying this is bad (0+ / 0-)

When you have Sen. McConnell trying to cover this up, you know it's bad.

I have a feeling that the big donors they are counting on to help the RSCC and the RCCC are not giving. If they were, McConnel would probably say that this is just part of free speech and nothing can be done about it.

If this goes on for a few more months, the above mentioned groups will be in crisis mode.
