dealing with this story. Absolutely unbelieveable.

From the story, 4% of the graduates were at freshman reading levels when they started school. Now all are graduating and accepted at 4 year colleges. I almost don't believe this story.

I am not pro or against Charter Schools but I know from personal experience that Daley and Arne Duncan were absolutely in love with them and this project in particular was their pet. The Mayor is damn happy today, I guarantee you that.

    •  No, they won't have a hard time dealing with it. (0+ / 0-)

Charter Schools are selective leaving the non performing students to the public schools.  It is a nasty downward spiral for the public schools and eventually the charter schools when there are no public schools left to take the bad students.

school was non performing or as you say a bad student. The article is clear on that, 4% were at freshman reading levels. You would deny these young men the opportunity to attend such a school simply because others are unlucky enough not to get picked via the lottery? What does that accomplish?
