  •  Sorry - continuing the anti-abortion agenda (6+ / 0-)

of the Republican agenda is wrong.  Period. Wrong.

Women's access to a legal procedure is already severely restricted - we can not let Democrats continue to restrict access.

Stupak had the nerve to say he didn't want the House to "expand abortion rights."  Excuse me?  This is a legal procedure.

I know it's easy for many people to think that access to abortion is a right that's OK to trade away, but doing so makes us worse than the Republicans.

Plus above and beyond what he might have done in the past, he is defying President Obama.  He's not deaf, he knows the Republicans want to destroy Obama's presidency, and he's trying to kill the bill with the most devisive issue in this country.

    •  So much for "undue burden" (0+ / 0-)

    •  I'm pro-choice, (0+ / 0-)

but I don't think every Democrat should have to be, nor should we all have to follow in lock-step behind the president.  You would turn us into the Republicans- no ideological diversity, just follow authority.

      •  If you are actually pro choice, PROVE IT. (1+ / 0-)

Spend your energy LEANING on Stupak as a supporter, instead of defending his record in here.

He is LYING to his own constituents about the FACTS. You could be writing and calling his office about that!

As an obvious supporter, defender of his record, your criticism will carry much more weight. He obviously thinks women are 2nd class citizens, so I'm sure he responds better to male voices anyway

        PROVE IT!

Okay, the Government says you MUST abort your child. NOW do you get it?

I have no weight with him because I'm not a constituent.  I interned in a legislative office- they don't care what you think if you're not a constituent.  It's a waste of time.

      •  I've struggled with this idea myself - and the (0+ / 0-)

Republican wall of 'No' means we need to have a solid pro-choice body to protect woemn's right to choose.

I had no problem with pro-life Democrats until Stupak tried and is still trying to force a choice between passing HCR or further limiting women's right to chose.

What bothers me is that the the conservadems & pro-life dems have taken advantage of the Republican's wall of "NO" to start issuing demands of their own instead of working for a balance between centrist, or even conservative point of view.  I am really tired of this group's demands and ultimatums.

I don't object to pro-life Democrats per se, but when they hold up Health care reform for all Americans just so they can have their medieval attitude towards reproductive rights codified into law, they need to go.
