    That's right - currently there's little to no competition in the U.S. wireless market. Thanks to exclusivity deals, two carriers rarely carry the same cool phone. If AT&T and Verizon both had the iPhone, for example, they'd have to compete on price and quality of service. Imagine that!  

    •  Rumor is that Verizon (0+ / 0-)

      is supposed to get it soon.  That exclusivity is usually time limited.

      At any rate, Verizon has launched an IPhone competitor -- that's how it is being advertised, anyway -- with the Motorola Droid.  It's one of a number of devices based on Google's Android operating system.

      So, yes, there's competition for the IPhone.
