  •  Medicare expansion looks like what many Progs (8+ / 0-)

are starting to see as a path to single payer. Basically what I'm hearing is that THE public option is giving way to A public option, and that many are okay with this, particularly because it does seem to pave the way for passage through reconciliation.

I'm hearing different things, but have my nose close to the ground and am listening to all different sources.

It will be a long process. But since Gov. Dean first initially proposed medicare expansion around Christmas, I've thought it was a smart tactic with so much Senate obstructionism. I tend to respect Gov. Dean's creative thinking, at any rate.

Ultimately, unsure what the answer is.

But open to the conversation, since we've little choice in the final, final, final hour, and will have to fix it after passing it at this point.

    •  Everyone Says It Can Be Passed In Recon. (0+ / 0-)

because it's an existing program, and with the buy-in it's revenue positive isn't it? The whole reason industry let it get passed in the first place was that the aged are their most expensive demo to insure.
