it's rude.  Trying to claim the mantle of "honesty" to excuse your rudeness is nothing but disengenuous.

You actually base your decisions on who to vote for by whether the candidate has been nice to you?  I don't know what that could be other than being a one issue (or one nonissue) voter.

But you get to make your decision based upon what criteria you think is important, as do I.  I simply didn't appreciate the negative comments about the UP, which is a lovely place with many, many lovely people.

i do care about the amendment to HCR, but im not a fan of insurance reform anyway and hope the bill fails in current form.

        •  angry lib, you owe gustynpip an apology. (0+ / 0-)

Disagreements are to be expected, telling another commenter to "shut up" is rude and unacceptable here.

at "progressives" who complain about stupak who aren't from his district.

they don't vote for him i dont want to hear from them.

sure what he did is was lousy for us, for women, for the bill.  but he's not representing us.  he's representing MI-1 and everyone who doesn't live there needs to stfu and go complain to their own members about it.

that's how the House of Representatives works.

                •  What? (0+ / 0-)

Do you think he operates in a vacuum, where his actions don't have any impact on the rest of us?  When MI-1 elections stop influencing the rest of the country, maybe the rest of the country will stop caring about what happens in them.  But just like we were happy to see that troglodyte bounced in the Texas BoE primary, or Lieberman lose the Senate primary in CT, or the disgraceful Norm Coleman go down to Al Franken, we're going to be interested in the outcome here.

We can and will try to influence this race, and if the voters of MI-1 don't agree, they'll go on electing a misogynist asshole to represent them.  That's their right, just like the wingnuts in Texas can send 'box turtle' Cornyn to the Senate.  Just because he's a Dem from your neck of the woods doesn't mean he can't be wrong, and should be immune to criticism.

Clearly, I need to find a witty sig line.
