reinstituting Glass-Steagall, really hope it happens.

And someone last night, maybe Rep Weiner, said that the public option is only still even vaguely alive because of the public outcry and push in support, so maybe we are being nuudged back into active democracy, one drip at a time. It's going to take a ton of rabble rousing and push to get the banking and financial lobbies under control, TR and FDR were the last to manage it, we're going to need that sort of cheerleading again to start the momentum and keep it going.

    •  Democrats will only lose in the Fall if they lack (5+ / 0-)

There are 290 bills passed by the House that are sitting in the Senate's Inbox.

There is a ton of good legislation being is just not being passed on to Obama to sign.

After Bunning's grandstanding, we are finally getting some critical mass in the Senate rallying around filibuster reform. I am really looking forward to next January when they can change the rules that govern the Senate. These rules only need 50 + 1 if done when the new Congress convenes.

      Galvanized Dems

Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) told the Huffington Post in a short phone interview that he and his colleagues have become increasingly convinced that for legislative action to get done, the rules binding them have to be loosened. In particular, the New Mexico Democrat pointed to the role Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) played in unilaterally holding up extensions to unemployment benefits as a particularly galvanizing moment within the Democratic caucus.

We have seen Senators lose their backbone but maybe this time they will have the guts to do it.

Good afternoon and huggs to you, FWG.
